Dear Bloggie Diary,
Just to keep my experience throughout this trip in my memory, I will share with you the events we go through day by day here in Singapore. Mr.TiongSim is getting his treatment @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital (Novena) and our place to stay varies from time to time, depending solely on how long each of our landlady allows us to stay. Of course, we do pay,but they complain of the Resort World Casino opening and they are flooded with customers. So we being the less profitable customers, they need to give the others their priorities. Our meals come mostly from the hospitals cafeteria or the food court below our rooms. It is all really a very different living from what I am used to and it is time to learn to adapt :)

Day 1 - Gratitude

We arrived in Singapore at about lunch time. Getting our cab and watching the rain trickle down the windows as we got through the roads of Orchard Rd, makes me wonder how our rented room would be like. The last one I visited, was deprived of sunlight and fueled with humidity. Spider-webs decorated the corners of the ceiling and it sends gliding bumps under my skin, thinking that I would have to resort to staying in such a place.
But it proved to be the reverse of my thoughts. The room was well-lit with after-rain sunlights and clean air ran through my lungs as I took my early steps in. We dragged our luggages in and waited by the puffy couch, awaiting the landlady to direct us to our room. She was cleaning when we got there. In her yellow rubber gloves and army-printed boots, she was going about wiping, spraying, throwing, beating the dust out of our room as she yelled to us. Yes, she doesn't talk, she yells..
It was really terrible whenever we asked her something, she would yell the answer back at us,though we know that she doesn't mean it. I guess she was just so used to yelling in her own defense. You know a single lady in the land of other's, just barely getting by with the profits from renting rooms. She shall be named, Ms. Lily. :)
Once inside the room, I practically threw myself on the self-proclaimed side of the bed and closed my eyes just for a few seconds..
and that was when I had fully absorbed that, "This is it. The start of my journey."
I heard my name being called, I got up and as sleepy as I was from my nap, I could see that the other 3 needed dinner. Badly~ XD So we prepared and went to hunt for economically friendly food. We surveyed and there were 3 choices below the apartment.
1. The Food Court
2. The chicken rice corner
3. The Ayam Penyet restaurant <--(The most expensive of the 3)
and we decided.
The Food Court.
It was jam-packed. If it wasn't for Mr.TiongSim limping,we would have never gotten a seat. -I'm sorry Mr.TiongSim, for having to endure all the waiting and stands as the 3 of us tried to get seats.- and that was also when he started his Duck+SiuYoke rice streaks.. For every meal from then on-which is an additional 3 meals-, that was what he had XD I really wonder how could he like it THAT much. XD
After dinner,we went for for "air" ourside the mall and the reward we had for survinving the first half day was the Ice-Cream Wafer awaiting us outside Taka. :D It was heavenly. Though it is only $1 each, I was as happy as I would have been having a new Tommy bag. It was the joy of having to so scrupulously saving money the whole day and to find something so fitting for it's price at the end of the day for dessert. Uh~! I felt such rush of gratitude for all that has been before the ice-cream :D
The night passed peacefully, as I fell asleep with thoughts of ty ;) Tomorrow will be the start of the journey for Mr.TiongSim....
